How to do a Dumbbell Shoulder Press Alternate with Anick Fontaine
In this video, I show you how to perfect a Dumbbell Shoulder Press Alternate, also known as an Alternating Dumbbell Shoulder Press or an Alternating Overhead Dumbbell Press. The Dumbbell Shoulder Press Alternate mainly works the anterior deltoids but also the triceps and lateral deltoids. Dumbbells allow you to move your arms more to the side, which activates the lateral deltoids a little more. Standing Dumbbell Shoulder Presses also strengthen core muscles such as the obliques, transversus abdominis, lower back, and spinal stabilizers. Finally, the alternating structure allows you to isolate a particular side, improving muscular balance and stability. We recommend incorporating this exercise into your arm and shoulder workouts.
